Inanimate Object
I am the flower in a vase. Pretty to look at and set in a place for everyone to admire. Do you not see how fragile my petals are? How clearing my beauty?
I am a piece of notebook paper full of words. Waiting to journey to fantasy lands and fall in love. What happens when that paper is crumbled into a ball and tossed in the trash?
I am the warm blanket. Offering comfort and security. Do you see, when alone, I’m cold and without purpose?
I am the cup of coffee. Bringing warmth, joy, and a fresh start to the day. But what about when I grow cold, half gone, and discarded for days on the counter?
I am also the brass candelabra. I am strong, built to last. My exterior is cold and hard, but I am beautiful. Part of the family, I sit at the center of the table. Always ready to shine my light on others. Until the meal is over, and once again, I am placed in a cabinet. Waiting once again to be useful.
